In 2022 Main Street Waterloo hosted our Inaugural Golf Tournament to fund a grant program for Downtown Waterloo small businesses. The Downtown IMPACT Grant provides assistance to businesses working to add a new line of services, products, a piece of equipment, or a project that will help take their business to the next level. In our first year, we were able to award a $6,100 grant to Gray Lane Yoga for the addition of Uplift Fitness. The grant will enable Gray Lane Yoga+Uplift Fitness to install the needed infrastructure and equipment to host aerial yoga classes, instructor education, and expansion of business hours making them the only yoga studio within a 2-hour radius to offer this type of class. We will be awarding the 2023 grant in December. In our second year, we were able to award a $7,000 grant to Try Pie Bakery to help them purchase a cold storage delivery vehicle that will expand their service area, expose them to new clientele, and enable them to enroll additional students into the program. The 2023 tournament was unfortunately rained out, but the Downtown Impact Grant is still in the works.

For 2025 we have a goal of $10,000 and we are thrilled to invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 17 for a day of golfing, lunch and fun to benefit small businesses in Downtown Waterloo. The tournament will be held at Gates Park Golf Course located at 820 E Donald St. The four person best shot will begin with check-in at 10:30 AM, lunch at 11 AM, and Shotgun Start at noon. The day will be filled with fun and excitement including contests for longest drive, putting and more. After the tournament join us for a social and awards.
