This past weekend was a success for Main Street Waterloo as over 400 children gravitated downtown in celebration of Halloween. A special congratulations to Amanda Scott, the winner of the pumpkin weight guessing at 48lbs. These BOO-tiful pictures caught a glimpse of the fun! We would like to give a big thanks to those of you in attendance and to everyone who made this event possible!
Main Street Waterloo is pleased to announce that our annual family-friendly downtown Halloween event will be held on Saturday, October 25th beginning at 9:00 a.m. until Noon at the downtown Farmers Market in the RiverLoop Expo Plaza, 327 W. Park Ave. in the same area where the downtown Waterloo Farmers Market takes place.
We are seeking volunteers and donations of small toys to give away as prizes at our games, please contact us if you can help!
Activities will include crafts, games, free toys and candy for the kids. Everyone is welcome to enjoy free orange drink from McDonalds and popcorn, and try your hand at guessing the weight of a giant pumpkin. Children can bring their own trick-or treat bags and pick up maps of participating downtown merchants who will be providing free candy beginning at 10:00 am until Noon.
This safe and fun event is open to the public. The event is free, with the exception should children wish to come in costume and be photographed, Charley’s Angels Photography Studio will be available to take your picture for $3.00.
The event celebrates the final Saturday of the 2014 downtown Farmers Market, so you will be able to pick up pumpkins and other produce at low cost.
