Taste of 'Loo - Thursday, January
28
A Culinary
Adventure
Get Your Passports Now! The Taste
of 'Loo is just around the corner. On
Thursday, January 28 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm we invite
you to travel the world without leaving your
hometown. Take your passport and visit all
12 Downtown locations. Start the tour anywhere along the way and
journey through Downtown at your own pace.
Passports can be
purchased at the Main Street Waterloo office for
$20. Sales are limited to the first
250 participants so be sure to stop in at 329 East
4th Street to buy your passports (sorry no credit
cards).

Challenge Grant
Awarded
Main Street Waterloo
brought home yet another grant for development in
the Downtown. On Saturday, January  23 Main Street and Invision
Architect representatives were on hand to recieve
the $50,000 grant award by Governor Chet
Culver. Waterloo was one of 13 Main Street
communities be awarded from the $800,000 Main
Street Iowa 2010 Challenge Grant cycle. The
Montgomery Ward Building (also known as the
Courier building) will be getting a face lift and
interior renovations for INVISION Architects who
have an intent to purchase the
building. |

Downtown
Downtown Waterloo is a lot
of things to a lot of people. Show how
important Downtown is to
you. Main Street
Waterloo continues our
fund-raising efforts in 2010. We invite
everyone to show their support. We are
thrilled to promote events Downtown,
improve the visual
quality, engage new businesses, and get
people involved in our
community. With
your contributions and
support we can do even
more. Main Street now
has the ability to accept
credit card donations on-line.
It's easy and as always it is tax
deductible.

Snow and
Parking Downtown
Did you know with too much
snow you could get
towed?
During a snow emergency
( 2 or more inches) don't park your car on the
street overnight. Having the streets clear
helps the City get the snow removed more
easily. Cars that are impeding the City
services can be towed.
Solution - Park in
the ramps overnight for free (just be out
by 7:00
am)
